The WOW Project initiated a program that enables site practitioners along the African-Eurasian Flyways to acquire hands on experience in wetland management and waterbird conservation. The advantages of such an exchange programme is that practitioners learn from the practical exchange of experiences and the transfer of know how. The idea behind the exchange programme is to support the development and growth of flyway networks. The WOW Regional Centres, WOW Demonstration sites and other key locations across the AEWA region could act as foci for the exchange.
The project has funded the initial establishment of the exchange programme structure. However, further resources and funding are needed to ensure the sustainability of the programme and for it to be developed further after the project ends.
