Bonn, Germany, 26 July 2009 - The WOW Project Coordination Unit (PCU) staffed by UNOPS has recently relocated to the UN Premises in Bonn, Germany and will be co-located with the UNEP/AEWA Secretariat.
Located on the Rhine River at the renowned “Langer Eugen”, the UN Premises is where all UN agencies in Germany are united and work as a single family.
“I look forward to continuing to work on this exciting initiative from Bonn together with all WOW partners, to ensure that project outputs are delivered by the end of 2010” says Camillo Ponziani, Operations Manager at the WOW Project Coordination Unit (PCU).
The co-location of the WOW PCU at the UNEP/AEWA Secretariat brings the operational hub of the project closer to two major donors of WOW (AEWA and the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation).
The Operations Manager will continue to work closely with the project’s core management team, consisting of focal points from Wetlands International and BirdLife International, as well as with the Chairman of the WOW Steering Committee until 2010.
