In Memory of Mounkaïla Soumana: site animator for the demonstration project in the Namga-Kokorou Complex, Niger

08-Feb-2009

Mounkaila Soumana We deeply regret to inform you that on 4 February 2009 the Wings Over Wetlands Project lost one of its staff members.  After a brief illness, Mounkaila Soumana passed away suddenly at the University Hospital Centre in Niamey, Niger.  Mounkaila was the site animator for Namga village and responsible for the implementation of activities locally.

Mounkaila was on the front lines of wetland conservation, educating the local community about the importance of wetland habitats and migratory waterbirds. His energy, commitment and efforts to the WOW Project will be deeply missed.  Mounkaila leaves behind two wives and three children and we wish his family strength during this trying time.
