A warm welcome to the new WOW Capacity Development Officer for the Middle East Region

16-Oct-2008

Wageningen, 16 October 2008 - Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Salim Bawaneh, the new Capacity Development Officer for the Middle East Region. Salim Bawaneh will be replacing Majdi Salameh, who left the BLI Middle East Division for another job opportunity in August 2008. Born in Hareema (Jordan), Salim graduated as a teacher in English language and literature and has always felt that as a teacher he played an important role in communicating environmental issues.

Long before Salim became a volunteer with Birdlife International, he has been active in several environmental clubs and activities within his school, trying to raise awareness on environmental issues among his students.

In a message Salim pointed out that he eagerly accepts the challenge to work for the BirdLife Middle East office in Jordan, which is also the WOW Project Regional Centre for the Middle East region.

Salim Bawaneh can be contacted at: cdo[AT]birdlifemed.org
