Moscow, 10 November 2008 - Alexander Solokha, the Regional Waterbird Officer for the Wings Over Wetlands Project at the WOW Regional Centre for Central Asian and Caucasus States reports that the "WOW Project in Brief 2007" publication is now available in Russian. The Russian version of the brochure was produced by Alexander Solokha and the team at the Wetlands International Russia office and includes an extra section about the subregion of Russia, Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus.
The Russian version was produced with the aim of raising awareness about the WOW Project among decision makers, experts and the general public in the region, focusing on countries in which Russian language is broadly used, i.e. in Russia itself and in some neighbouring countries.
The idea is to use the Russian version of the brochure to promote the project and it's innovative flyway approach to relevant governmental agencies, universities, research institutions and NGOs, and to distribute it at relevant meetings taking place in the region.
